Ability Care Partners is a personal care attendant (PCA) agency in the Minnesota. We are PCA Choice Provider that serves people with disabilities that require personal care services in daily life.

PCA Choice is a program offered by the Minnesota Department of Human Services that gives people with disabilities the option to find, hire and supervise their own PCA's in partnership with a PCA Choice Provider.

How is "PCA Choice" different from regular/traditional PCA agencies?

People with disabilities often turn to a regular/traditional Personal Care Attendant or Home Health Care Agency who finds, hires, trains and supervise's their PCA’s for them. With these traditional PCA agencies the individual often has little or no control in who works with them in this very personal and essential area of their life. There is also a fairly high employee turnover rate with traditional PCA agencies as they often do not pay a fair wage. Some people with disabilities do need the help in hiring, training and supervising their personal care, which is why traditional PCA agencies are present for those who need that assistance.

Our job is to assist and educate our clients on how to find, hire and supervise your own care staff. We handle the business side (background checks, payroll, liability insurance/bonds). We become partners. We do not provide traditional PCA services where we hire and manage PCA's for you. Some agencies offer both, we focus solely on the PCA Choice option.
